A new chapter
Some poetry I wrote
“it is not your pen you are looking for// it is your tongue and those who speak with it” - Ruth Forman
Poetry?
I don’t know the rules of poetry. Or rather, I do, but I choose to ignore them. There’s something freeing about “just” writing and seeing where it will end up. About choosing to call something poetry, to call something art, just because you made it with the intention of it being so.
The longer I stare at the word “poetry”, the less it looks real. Especially as someone that does not have English as their first language, it just feels silly to be conveined by it.
Some short poems
“Why is everyone afraid of meeting someone that requires them to change?
Am I defined and confined by how others see me?”
“Am I strong?
Strong enough to survive this?
This means life.
Because real life is also seen as hell.
Satan is your reflection.”
“Am I born to never feel accomplished?
Or is that feeling the only thing I will ever achieve?”
What is left to say?
I have more poems left. Not many. But some. I wish to write more. Maybe I will. If only to feel like I can justify feeling like I have contributed. Not that contributing to society should be more important than contributing to your own happiness and quality of life, in my opinion. But who am I? Just a mere, technically young adult, that thinks too much and too little at the same time.
Please, do feel free to leave your opinion, your own poems, or whatever you wish to share with someone. I want you to feel heard and seen. Because you are, if you take the time to listen to yourself as well.

i found this post to be so refreshing—whenever i write poems, i usually put sm pressure on myself to make sure ive put out everything i need to say w/o leaving anything out. making sure there are conclusions to my points, bc if not, it will leave me questioning along with it. but i love how u just honestly said how u felt about your poetry, and what u felt about poetry in general. it gave me the eyes behind the words
