The way you capture the feeling of longing for someone who is gone, and how absence can feel as heavy as presence is so well done. When I read this I get this sensation that memory and desire can reshape the world around us, turning silence into a space filled with emotion.

Do you see this late night ache as a way of keeping love alive, or as a reminder to eventually let go?

Keeping it alive. I try and find love in everything I find (also a little bit of that ‘A little life’ quote). They may not be able to express the love, but I can do it for them. It’s about someone that I hold close and dearly but we’re in a difficult situation right now, still very in love though.

I hope you’re okay 🫶

I am okay. yes. That is such a refreshing point of view to have. Thank you.

GIRL YOU ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED ME WITH THIS ONE. Oh lord no, I’m gonna need time to recuperate.

You expressed so so perfectly this quiet, yet insistent feeling I’ve had over and over since the person I love left. You put into words something I have not dared to give voice to because I fear it will only make it louder. The way you mention the light still lingering fits so perfectly well how I still love this person, even from afar, and how against better judgement, my heart keeps reaching for him over and over. It’s beautiful. Thank you so much for writing this. 🤍

But ANYWAY, my therapist will be hearing about you 😫

I am so sorry you feel this way. I hope you can allow yourself to find a way to turn this warmth inward since you should feel like this about yourself all the same 🫶

What a lovely thing to say, thank you :) I’m learning to do so.
