Take up the space
"Step closer, touch the soil, let your roots show, interrupt the wind if you must."
I watched you standing
just outside the circle of the fire,
its sparks leaping over your hands
as if they knew not to land there.
You told me
it felt like being a house
with all the lights on
and no one ringing the bell.
So I went gathering small facts
like pebbles in my pockets.
How bodies ache the same way
when doors stay half-closed,
how the mind bruises
from quiet exclusions,
how every creature on earth
leans toward belonging
the way plants lean toward light.
I brought you armfuls of quiet knowledge,
little remedies like seeds.
Step closer,
touch the soil,
let your roots show,
interrupt the wind if you must.
I know you think
you are a ghost in crowded rooms.
I want you to know
you do not need permission
to move into the light.
I wish for you
the slow bloom of certainty,
the kind that drifts
like the leaves on your summer breeze
that whispers
you are seen
even when no one says it.
And if science fails to prove it,
I will build a new field of study.
The undeniable phenomenon
of you.
Rare, radiant,
absolutely real.
For anyone that has ever felt like they never really belonged. You belong here. And I can promise you the people that truly care about you, do feel like you belong with them and that you should not be missing out. Take care of yourself, both in the group and when you decide to venture out on your own. Have fun, regardless. You only get to choose happiness for yourself.

That used to be me until I found my people 💞
